The first step to starting your building project is to have one of our architects visit your home or property to listen to your needs and understand the goals of your unique construction project. Our goal for this meeting is to leave with a complete understanding of the design problems for which you need solutions. Your goal is to communicate to us what you need and/or desire. We listen to your needs, offer preliminary solutions, and explain the costs and process of design and construction.

At Thomas Baio Architect we offer two types of At-Site consultations and two types of in-office consultation.

At-Site Consultations

Basic introduction & brief consultation
At-Site (1) hour consultation (Limited to 60 minutes)
This service is no cost to the prospective client. It allows us to introduce ourselves, listen to your needs, outline with you a scope of work for the project, and witness key factors which will control the outcome through a tour of the existing conditions. This service allows us to produce a proposal which reiterates the scope of work, describes our services, and outlines our charges and payment schedule.

Full-service Evaluation
At-Site (2) hour consultation (Minimum 2 hours)
This service is a paid hourly consultation to the client. It allows us to do all of the above plus help evaluate a value engineered approach which would include a discussion of alternative scenarios. Frequently during these consultations sketches of key elements which might make the project solution instrumental are produced. Very often in cases of existing conditions with proposed alterations, sketches will be produced of the before and after which illustrates the idea right before your eyes. Charges for this service are by the hour and are quoted before arrival. Typical charges range between $180.00 and $240.00 an hour and are due at the completion of the consultation. All fees paid for this service will be deducted from our retainer agreement of the architectural services should you accept our proposal.

In-Office Consultations

This service is no cost to the prospective client. We meet with you in ove of our offices, introduce ourselves, listen to your needs, and outline with you a scope of work for the project. From here, we will produce a proposal which reiterates the scope of work, describes our services, and outlines our charges and payment schedule.
